1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you access or use Vautera, including its public website, mobile or desktop apps, local Memory Vault tools, live messaging, calls, community features, marketplace, dating, and related services (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information, keep your devices and access credentials secure, and promptly revoke a device you no longer control. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Some features have additional eligibility rules. In particular, dating features are for adults aged 18 or older. You may not use a feature if applicable law, an app store rule, or the feature's own notice prohibits you from doing so.
Vautera may use phone verification, device checks, rate limits, and other safeguards to protect accounts and the Services. Do not attempt to bypass those controls.
3. Imports, Memory Vault, and backups
Vautera can process a WhatsApp export or other supported file that you select. You may import only data that you own or are authorized to process. You remain responsible for obtaining the export lawfully and for respecting the rights of people whose communications appear in it.
Memory Vault import, indexing, and local viewing are designed to run on your device. Imported history is separate from Vautera's live messaging service and is not uploaded merely because you import or open it.
If you choose an export, share, restore, cloud backup, or external backup destination, the selected encrypted artifact and related backup metadata may leave your device and be handled by the destination you choose. You are responsible for securing destination accounts, backup credentials, and recovery material.
Keep independent copies. Device loss, file damage, forgotten credentials, software defects, or a destination-provider failure can make local or backed-up data unavailable. Do not treat Vautera as the only copy of data you need to preserve.
4. Your content
You keep the rights you have in content you submit, send, upload, publish, or import. You give Vautera a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, process, transmit, display, and reproduce that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Services you use.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide the content and that doing so does not violate law, contract, privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or other rights.
Recipients may save, copy, forward, report, or capture content after receiving or viewing it. Privacy and disappearing-content controls reduce some exposure but cannot control another person's device or conduct.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to:
- break the law, facilitate fraud, or infringe another person's rights;
- threaten, exploit, harass, stalk, impersonate, or deceive people;
- share intimate, abusive, illegal, or exploitative content without lawful authority and consent;
- send spam, conduct unauthorized marketing, or automate abusive activity;
- distribute malware, interfere with service operation, probe security without written permission, or evade access controls and rate limits;
- scrape, harvest, or sell personal information obtained through the Services;
- misuse marketplace, community, dating, calling, reporting, or emergency-related features; or
- help another person do any of the above.
Vautera may investigate suspected abuse, preserve relevant evidence, restrict features, remove content, or cooperate with lawful requests where appropriate.
6. Public, community, and social features
Profiles, usernames, Status posts, City Hub posts, marketplace listings, dating profiles, comments, reactions, and similar features may be visible to other people according to the feature and the audience settings you select. Review those settings before publishing.
Marketplace transactions and interactions between users are between those users unless Vautera expressly says otherwise. Verify listings and counterparties independently. Do not send money or disclose sensitive information merely because a person has a Vautera account.
Reports and moderation decisions can be reviewed by authorized staff. Safety controls reduce risk but do not verify every user, listing, statement, or item.
7. Availability, changes, and beta services
Features can differ by platform, country, account, build, provider configuration, or release stage. Beta and preview features may be incomplete, change without notice, or be withdrawn.
Vautera may modify, pause, limit, or discontinue a feature to maintain security, comply with law or platform rules, respond to provider changes, or improve the product. The Services are not an emergency service and must not be your only way to reach emergency responders or receive critical public-safety information.
8. Third-party services
The Services may rely on or link to app stores, phone-verification providers, push-notification services, hosting and storage providers, communications infrastructure, maps, payment services, or user-selected backup destinations. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to their services.
Vautera is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp or Meta. References to third-party products identify interoperability or user-selected data sources only.
9. Vautera materials
The Services, software, design, brand, and documentation are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for rights expressly granted in these Terms, Vautera and its licensors retain their rights in those materials.
You may not copy, sell, sublicense, or create a competing service from protected parts of the Services, or reverse engineer them except where applicable law expressly permits it.
10. Suspension, account deletion, and termination
You can stop using the Services at any time and can use the in-app account deletion control where available. Account deletion removes account-linked server data through the service's deletion flow, subject to data that must be preserved for legal, safety, dispute, security, or technical reasons.
Deleting an account does not automatically erase local files from every device, copies held by recipients, content another user lawfully retains, or data stored with a backup destination you selected. Remove those copies separately where needed.
Vautera may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address violations, safety risks, legal obligations, provider restrictions, or threats to the Services or other people.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." Vautera does not promise that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or export, or suitable for every purpose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. You remain responsible for your devices, connectivity, backups, interactions, decisions, and use of third-party services.
12. Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Vautera is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for lost profits, opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from use of the Services.
These limits do not apply where liability cannot be limited under applicable law. Your local law may give you additional rights.
13. Changes to these Terms
Vautera may update these Terms as the Services or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Where a change materially affects your rights, Vautera will provide additional notice when reasonably practicable.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
